From Cairo: Full-Day Tour of Historical Alexandria

Pick Up & Kom El-Deka

Do you know that Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great? We shall witness the great history by enjoying a pleasant trip to Alexandria, stopping on our way for some refreshment and a coffee. After another hour of driving at Kom El Deka, we will explore the remains of an ancient residential area, including the famed Roman amphitheater, pleasure garden, villas and mosaic floored Roman baths.

Kom El Shoqafa

A visit to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa will display the excellence of ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman architecture. The underground cemetery here is one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages.

Pompey’s Pillar

We then have the chance to visit Pompey’s Pillar, the significant Roman triumphal column in Alexandria, and the well-known Egyptian monument still standing among the ancient remains of the country before taking a break for lunch at a local restaurant.

Library of Alexandria, & Citadel

Continuing the trip you shall enjoy a photo stop at the Library of Alexandria, one of the Ancient World’s Largest and Renowned Archives. We shall then explore the Citadel of Qaitbay, a majestic fortress standing on the Mediterranean Coast.
